PUDINA/MINT CHICKEN

Chicken curries are usually cooked with tomatoes and plenty of masalas. If you wish to cook a chicken gravy with minimum masalas, that gets done really fast and tastes delicious, then Pudina chicken is your best bet. Mint leaves not only add a nice flavour to the dish but also makes it look colourful and delicious….

Ingredients

300 gms boneless chicken cut into pieces
2 cups mint leaves
2 green chillies
1 onion chopped
1 tbsp lime juice
½ tsp salt
½ cup curd
1 tbsp white pepper powder

2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp garlic paste
1 tbsp ginger paste
½ tsp garam masala powder

Method

Grind the mint leaves, green chillies and onions to a fine paste. Then take a bowl, add the ground paste, curd, salt, white pepper powder, lemon juice and chicken pieces and mix well. Allow this to marinate for about half an hour.

Next heat oil in a pan, add garlic and ginger paste and saute for some time. Next add the marinated chicken along with the paste and cook for about a minute. Then add 1 cup of water and bring the gravy to a boil. Reduce the heat, close a lid and cook for about 10 minutes till the chicken is soft and tender. Finally add garam masala powder and mix well. Cook for 2 more minutes. Serve hot.
