FOOD MADE BEAUTIFUL BY BOROSIL

A meal looks delicious only when it is served in beautiful utensils. Borosil products make the food look attractive and mouth watering as they put the focus only on what is important - Food. In this post i am giving the recipes of Baked pasta, Clear vegetable soup and Trifle pudding with step by step photos, all served in borosil utensils.

Baked Pasta

Baked pasta is a healthy and delicious dish made by layering a mix of vegetables with pasta and topping them with white sauce and cheese.

Take 1 cup pasta and cook it with a pinch of salt and 4 cups of water for 10 minutes. Once done, strain the water in a strainer and keep the boiled pasta ready.

Take thinly sliced carrots and capsicums in a mixing bowl from Borosil.

Add thinly sliced cheese to this.

Pressure cook peas, potatoes, beans in water and a pinch of salt for 3 whistles and add this to the bowl.

Add salt and pepper to taste and mix well.

(If you are planning to bake the pasta later, you can close the mixing bowl with the lid that comes with it and refrigerate the veggies for a few hours.)

Take a deep rectangular Borosil dish, grease with oil and layer it with the vegetable mix.

Add a layer of pasta on top.

Add another layer of veggies.

T o prepare the white sauce, heat a non stick pan, add a tbsp of butter. Once it melts, add a tbsp of maida and saute for a couple of minutes till the raw smell goes. Next reduce heat to low, add 1 and 1/2 cups of milk, and mix well such that there are no lumps. Add 1/2 a tsp of salt and pepper and pour the sauce over the pasta.

Top it with sliced carrots and capsicums and add grated cheese on top.

Place this inside the oven and bake at 160 degree Celsius for 15 minutes or till the cheese melts.

Baked pasta is ready to be served.

Clear vegetable soup

Take 1 cup of vegetable stock in the gourmet cook and serve bowl from Borosil. Add boiled carrots, beans and corn to this and place on the stove. Heat in low flame, add 2 tsp corn flour, salt and pepper to taste and continue stirring.

When it starts boiling, switch off the gas and serve.

Trifle pudding

Trifle pudding is a delicious pudding made by layering sponge cake with fruits and custard. I have used bananas, but you can also use apples, mangoes, pineapples, or any other fruit of your choice.

Layer a square Borosil bake and serve dish with sponge cake.

Pour caramelized sugar syrup on top.

Layer it with sliced banana pieces.

Prepare a custard by boiling 1/2 a litre of milk and then reducing it to 3/4th of its volume. Take 2 tbsp of custard powder in a bowl and dissolve it in 1/2 cup warm milk. Add this along with sugar to the milk and continue cooking. Once the custard starts thickening, switch off the gas and allow the custard to cool down a bit. Pour this into the dish when it is still warm and has not set.

Garnish with fresh cherries on top

Place the dish inside the refrigerator and close with the airtight lid that comes with it. Allow the trifle pudding to set for 2 to 3 hours.

Once set, you can also transfer the trifle to squat glasses from Borosil and enthrall your family.

Borosil products are a complete package and hence they have found a very important place in my as well as in most Indian and overseas kitchens. They are the first utensils i turn to when serving food.

No doubt Borosil makes food more beautiful and more attractive.
