KALEEJI PEPPER MASALA/ MUTTON LIVER PEPPER FRY





Kaleeji pepper masala/ Mutton liver pepper fry is a spicy and delicious gravy made using ground onions and tomatoes and seasoned with pepper powder. This is a perfect gravy recipe you can turn to on a cold day.

Ingredients

300 gms kaleeji/ Mutton Liver
2 onions cut into large pieces
2 tomatoes
2 green chillies
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 tsp pepper powder
¾ tsp salt
A handful of coriander leaves
2 tbsp oil

Method

  • Clean and wash the Mutton liver well with water, cut it into small pieces and keep ready.
  • Take onions, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, pepper powder, coriander leaves and salt in a mixer jar and grind all to a fine paste.
  • Transfer this to a bowl.
  • Remove the seeds from the tomatoes and grind this also to a paste.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add the ground onion paste to it.
  • Stir well and cook for a few minutes till the raw smell goes.
  • Add tomato puree and cook till oil starts separating.
  • Finally add the Mutton liver and mix well.
  • Add 1 cup water and close the lid. Pressure cook for 5 whistles. 
  • Check for taste, add salt or pepper powder if necessary.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapathi or rice.
