CHICKEN SHAMI KEBAB VIDEO RECIPE

Shami kebab is a traditional and flavourful kebab made with Meat and Chana dal. I have shared a recipe of making shami kebab with minced lamb meat and another version with more spices in my earlier posts and today’s post is a recipe of Shami kebab made with boneless chicken. The method of making Chicken shami kebab is very simple and I have also shared a video to make it easy to understand.

I have recently started taking videos of my dishes. If you like my videos and would like to see more in the coming months, please subscribe to my channel and like my videos.

Coming to the recipe of chicken shami kebab, you can see that it needs few ingredients, is easy to make and tastes awesome. You can serve these chicken shami kebabs with Biryani, Rice and dal or even as a starter or snack.

Ingredients

1 cup chicken boneless chicken
1 cup Bengal gram/ chana dal
1 onion chopped
10 cloves garlic
1 and ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
1 and ½ tsp red chilli powder
2 large tomatoes deseeded
Handful of Coriander leaves
2 tsp oil
2 tsp Chicken 65 masala powder
2 tbsp Rice flour
Oil for frying

Method

  • Take all the ingredients in a pressure cooker (except chicken 65 masala, oil and rice flour) along with 1 cup water.
  • Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  • Once the steam has come out, open the lid and check if there is any water left. If there is water, cook for a few minutes till all the water evaporates.
  • Allow this to cool down completely and grind to a fine paste.
  • Transfer to a large bowl, add chicken 65 masala powder, and rice flour and oil and mix well to form dough.
  • Pinch small balls and make shapes as shown. This is how we make at home but you can also make circular ones.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan and shallow fry the shami kebabs till they turn golden brown in colour.
  • Serve hot.
