GRILLED CHICKEN IN AN OVEN

 



Hi friends welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to share the recipe and method of making Grilled Chicken in our otg oven.

Ideally marinating the chicken in masalas for 4 to 6 hours enhances its taste, I did not marinate the chicken as I was short of time. But still the chicken came out perfectly delicious and tasty without a drop of oil. So this is a perfect Grilled chicken recipe for all my Health conscious readers out there.

So lets move on to the recipe of making Perfectly grilled and delicious Grilled chicken at home without any oil or butter.

Ingredients 

1 kg chicken cut into 4 pieces
1/3 cup curd
2 tsp green chilli sauce (or you can grind 2 green chillies)
2 tbsp corn flour
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp masuri methi
2 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
2 tsp salt (or to taste)
3 tsp tandoori chicken masala 
1 tsp oregano (optional)

Method

  • Clean and wash the chicken in water. 
  • Using a knife make cuts on the chicken so that the masala goes inside the chicken.
  • Pat dry with a clean cloth to absorb all the water and keep ready.
  • Then in a wide bowl add all the ingredients mentioned above and mix well.
  • Check for taste, add salt, curd or chilli powder if needed. The taste was perfect for us so I did not add anything extra.
  • Now apply the masala on the chicken pieces and let it rest till we get the oven ready.


  • Now take aluminium roll, cut and place it over a baking tray that comes with the oven.
  • Place this tray in the lower rack if the oven.
  • Now heat the oven at 200 degree C for 10 minutes with both upper and lower rods On.
  • After 10 minutes, place the chicken on the grill rack and place it in the middle rack of the oven.




  • Grill for 40 to 50 minutes.
  • Then carefully take out the grill rack and turn the chicken pieces to the other side.
  • Grill again for 10 minutes.
  • Once done, switch off the oven and let the grilled chicken sit inside the oven for 5 more minutes.
  • Now the next step is entirely optional, but giving the grilled chicken a smoky effect enhances its flavor and taste. You can skip the next step if you want.
  • Transfer the grilled chicken to a wide bowl and leave some space in the middle. Heat a piece of coal with tongs on stove till it turns red hot. Transfer it to a steel bowl and place the bowl in the middle of the grilled chicken. Close a lid and let the smoke cover the chicken for about 5 minutes.






  • Now its time to serve the Grilled Chicken with sliced carrots, onion rings, lemon and Mayo or any other dip of your choice.
