Chicken lollipop is a popular Chinese delicacy. This is prepared by coating the chicken wings in batter and then deep frying in oil. This delicacy can easily be prepared at home using just a few ingredients.


10 pieces chicken lollipop cleaned and washed with water and pat dried
1/4 cup all purpose flour
½ cup corn flour
2 eggs
2 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp garlic paste
2 tsp soya sauce
1 tsp tandoori masala
1 tsp pepper powder
Salt to taste
Oil for frying


  • Take all purpose flour, corn flour, and eggs in a bowl and whisk well such that there are no lumps.
  • In another bowl, add red chilli powder, salt, pepper powder and tandoori masala and a few tsps of water and make a paste.
  • Add this paste to the batter along with soya sauce and garlic paste and mix well.
  • Check for taste and add salt, chilli powder or pepper powder if necessary.
  • The consistency of the batter must be slightly thick and not watery.
  • Keep the chicken lollipops ready and heat oil in a pan.
  • Dip one lollipop in the batter, coat it completely and deep fry in oil in medium flame till golden in colour.
  • Deep fry 2 or 3 lollipops at a time. In the same way fry all the lollipops.
  • Garnish with sliced onion rings, coriander leaves and a slice of lemon.
  • Serve hot with fried rice and ketchup.

I have omitted adding the red food colour to the lollipops, but if you want you can add a drop of food colour to make it look good.
