Papaya is a commonly available fruit packed with several health benefits. Sometimes the taste of the papaya is not as sweet as you wish, and it is on those days that you can try this dessert. It is very easy to prepare and tastes delicious.
Ingredients
1 medium sized papaya- skin peeled, deseeded and cut into small pieces
2 cups milk
4 tbsp sugar
2 tsp ghee
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Method
Take the papaya in a mixer and grind it to a fine paste. Then heat a pan, add papaya puree, milk and sugar. (Adjust the proportion of sugar according to the taste of the papaya). Stir and bring it to a boil. Continue to stir for about five minutes. As it starts thickening, add ghee and cardamom powder and mix well. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes or till it reaches halwa consistency. Switch off the gas and pour into bowls. You can serve it hot or cold, as it is or garnished with nuts. I served it cold after refrigerating for 3 hours.
