Walnuts are known for their innumerable health benefits.
They are a good source of omega 3 fatty acids, protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals
and anti-oxidants. Walnuts help in weight loss and improve heart and brain
health. They also have cancer fighting properties.
Hence most doctors and dieticians recommend the addition of walnuts in our diet. Recently I got a hamper from California Walnuts for review and I must say, I was very impressed.
A neatly packed hamper from California walnuts was hand
delivered to my address and the box contained six recipes made with California
walnuts. California is a leading producer of walnuts and their walnuts have a superior
quality than walnuts grown elsewhere. California walnuts are light in colour
and have a sweet mild taste that makes a savory sweet and sweet savory. The
soft texture and mild taste make them a versatile ingredient in flavour profiles
in recipes and processed products.
My view on the six recipes made with California walnuts
Kachori
The kachori was crunchy and had a nice taste.
Brownie
The brownie was soft, chocolaty and had the wonderful taste
and crunch of walnuts.
Masala walnuts
The walnuts were mildly spiced with masala and they tasted
great
Brain mix
This had a combination of walnuts along with flaxseeds,
cashews etc and tasted good.
Chikki
The chikki too tasted good and the combination of walnuts
and jaggery was nice.
Walnut Cranberry delight
This was my favourite of the six. It had a wonderful combination of cranberries and walnuts which was simply awesome.
In total all the products from California walnuts were delicious
