Bhuna gosht is a spicy, flavourful and delicious dish that can easily be prepared at home. I have shared the recipe and method of making Bhuna gosht the way we make at home. Do try out the recipe. I am sure you will like it.


300 gms boneless mutton cut into small pieces
1 and 1/2 tsp salt
1 and 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp garlic paste
handful of coriander leaves
6 tbsp oil
1 and 1/2 cups or 2 cups water


  • Take mutton pieces in a bowl, add salt, red chilli powder, garlic paste and coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Transfer this to a pressure cooker and add water.
  • Close the lid and pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistles or more till the mutton is soft and cooked.
  • Once the pressure has released, open the lid of the cooker and transfer to a frying pan.
  • Add oil and cook in medium flame for about 5 minutes.
  • Add coriander leaves and transfer to a serving bowl. Serve hot with rice and dal/ sambar or any curry of your choice.
