Shahi Tukda is a delicious, rich and easy to make sweet that you can prepare on special occasion or festivals. Shahi Tukda is also an ideal sweet to prepare when you are hosting a large gathering of people. Making Shahi Tukda needs very few ingredients and the sweet gets done in just 1 hour.

350 gms bread (approx 20 slices)
oil for frying
1 litre milk
1 and 1/4 cup sugar
400 gms condensed milk
4 to 5 tbsp chopped cashews, pistachios and almonds
2 to 3 cardamoms

  • Boil milk in a pan, add sugar, cashews, almonds, pistachios, cardamoms and condensed milk and cook for 10 to 15 minutes while stirring till the milk slightly thickens.
  • Switch off the gas and keep ready.
  • Now cut each bread slice into 2 triangles and toast in a pan till you get brown spots. Toast all bread slices and keep ready.
  • Next heat oil in a pan and when oil is hot, deep fry the bread slices till it turns golden brown in colour on both sides.
  • Transfer to a plate. In the same way fry all the bread slices.
  • Once done, dip each slice in the milk mix and assemble on a wide plate or dish.
  • Pour the remaining milk on top and serve.
  • You can also refrigerate this dessert and serve chilled.
