CHEESE BALLS

Hi all, Today I am sharing recipe of making Cheese Balls. These cheesy balls are soft on the inside and crispy outside and are a perfect snack that you can make with tea in the evenings. These Cheese balls are also an ideal snack for Iftar (as Ramadan is round the corner) as they do not take much time to prepare.

So let's move on to the recipe of making Cheese Potato Balls at home

Ingredients

2 large potatoes boiled and mashed
2 tsp bread crumbs
3/4 tsp red chilli powder
3/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp chaat masala powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1/4 cup Cheese cut into small blocks

For coating the Cheese balls before frying
2 tbsp cornflour
2 tbsp water
Bread crumbs

Oil for frying
Tomato ketchup (for serving)

Method

  • Take Boiled and mashed potatoes in a bowl, add bread crumbs, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala powder, cumin powder, pepper powder and mix everything well to make a dough.
  • Take small balls from it and flatten it gently. (I got 12 balls) Place a cheese block in the middle, close the potato mix and roll to make a ball again.
  • In the same way make more balls and keep ready.
  • To make the batter, take cornflour and water in a bowl and mix well to make a thin paste.
  • Take the breadcrumbs in a plate and keep ready.
  • Take the Cheese balls, dip it in the cornflour slurry and then coat well with bread crumbs.
  • Keep aside. In the same way, coat the remaining cheese balls with bread crumbs.
  • Heat oil in a pan or kadai, and when oil is hot, add the Cheese balls and deep fry them till they are golden brown in color.
  • Transfer the Cheese balls to an absorbent paper and serve hot with Tomato Ketchup.
  • If you wish to make a healthier version, we can also make this in an Air fryer or bake in an oven.
  • If using an Air fryer, place the Cheese balls in a preheated Air fryer and air fry for about 10 minutes at 170 degree C.

I hope you liked this recipe and will try it out soon. Stay tuned for my next post coming on Monday starting with the letter D.
