Sooji ki firni is a delicious sweet which needs very few ingredients. If you do not wish to spend much time in the kitchen and yet dish out a delicious sweet , then this recipe would be a perfect choice.


6 cups milk
2 tbsp sooji (semolina)
6 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
1 cardamom, 1 cinnamon
Chopped nuts (cashews, raisins, pistachios)
1 tbsp ghee

  • Boil milk in a pan.
  • Then reduce heat, add cardamom, cinnamon and sugar and mix well.
  • Increase the heat to medium and continue cooking and stirring till the sugar dissolves.
  • Now add sooji and continue stirring for about 10 minutes.
  • By this time the sooji would have cooked and the sweet would have started thickening. (If the sooji is not yet cooked, continue cooking for a few more minutes.)
  • Take another pan, add ghee and roast the dry fruits and nuts.
  • Add the roasted nuts and dry fruits to the sweet and mix well.
  • Switch off the gas and transfer to bowls.
  • Garnish with sliced pistachios and serve.
  • You can serve this hot or refrigerate for a few hours and serve cold.
