Prawn fry is a mouth watering and delicious recipe that you can prepare for lunch. It tastes best when served with dal and white rice.


300 gms prawn
1 onion cut into large slices
6 tbsp oil
12 curry leaves
3 tbsp curd
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp red chilli powder
salt to taste
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
coriander leaves


  • Take the prawns in a bowl, add curd, red chilli powder, salt, black pepper powder and ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Check for taste and add salt or chilli powder or curd as required.
  • Set aside and allow this to marinate for atleast 3 to 4 hours.
  • Then heat oil in a pan and add the prawns along with the marinade to it.
  • Mix well and cook for a few minutes till the prawns are cooked. 
  • Switch off the gas.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in another pan and add curry leaves and onions.
  • Cook till the onions turn soft.
  • Add this to the prawns and mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
