STRAWBERRY CUSTARD

Custard is the first sweet that comes to my mind when I get a sudden call from relatives visiting my home in an hour. The really good thing of making custard is that it gets done in just about 10 minutes. While I get myselves and my home ready, the custard would come to room temperature and I quickly pop it into the freezer for about 30 minutes. I am sure you too will try this when you are in a hurry or are craving for a quick treat without spending much time in the kitchen.

Ingredients

1 litre boiled and cooled milk
4 heaped tbsp strawberry flavoured custard powder
8 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
8 strawberries finely chopped
1 strawberry for garnish

Method
  • Take 1 cup milk in a bowl and add custard powder to it.
  • Mix well such that there are no lumps.
  • Boil the milk in a pan and when it starts boiling add sugar and mix well.
  • When the sugar dissolves, add the custard –milk mix to it and mix well.
  • Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • When the custard starts thickening, switch off the gas and allow it to cool down completely.
  • Now add the chopped strawberries to the custard and mix well.
  • Transfer to serving glasses and garnish with sliced strawberries on top.
  • Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours and serve.
