NO OVEN VEGETABLE AND CHEESE PIZZA




Hi friends, Today I am going to share a simple, easy and delicious recipe of making Pizza at home without oven. Here I have made Pizza base from scratch and believe me, these Pizzas taste as good and actually better than the ones you get at Pizza joints. You can add corns, olives or any other vegetable as per your taste. I have made this Vegetable and Cheese Pizza using a non-stick pan.





Makes 2 normal or 3 small pizzas
Ingredients

For the pizza base
1 cup = 180 ml

2 cups all purpose flour (maida)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup warm water/ milk (add more if needed)

For the pizza sauce

3 large tomatoes
2 tbsp oil
1 onion finely chopped
1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
2 tsp tomato sauce

For the toppings

1 onion finely sliced
1 capsicum cut into small cubes
1 tomato cut into small cubes
Cheese as required (grated)
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp red chilli flakes

Method

To make Pizza sauce





  • Cut tomatoes into small pieces, remove seeds and add them to 2 cups of boiling water.
  • Cook for about 10 minutes and then switch off the gas. Drain the water from the tomatoes and keep ready.
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan, add garlic and saute for a few seconds. 
  • Next add onions and saute till the onions turn golden.
  • Add the cooked tomatoes, red chilli powder, salt, oregano, red chilli flakes, sugar and tomato sauce and mix well.
  • Cook for 2 to 3 minutes and switch off the gas.
  • Allow the mix to cool down completely and grind to a smooth paste.
  • Our Pizza sauce is ready.


To make the base




  • Take a bowl, add yeast, salt, sugar and 1/2 cup water/milk and mix well. 
  • Set aside for 10 minutes.
  • Then sieve All purpose flour and baking powder, and add to the yeast mixture. 
  • Add oil and mix everything well. 
  • Add more water/milk if necessary.
  • Keep kneading for about 5 minutes and make a smooth dough.
  • Cover the dough with a lid and set aside for 1 to 2 hours till it doubles in size.
  • Knock down the dough and knead well for a minute. 
  • The dough must be smooth and elastic. Divide it into 2 or 3 balls according to your choice and roll to form a circle of about 1/4" thickness. 
  • Heat a non stick pan in low flame with a lid for 10 minutes.
  • Place the pizza base on a tray and cover with muslin cloth. Allow it to rise for about 10 minutes. 
  • Then using a fork prick each base.
  • Place one pizza base in the pan, close a lid and cook on one side for 1 minute in low flame.
  • Turn to the other side.
  • Add 2 tsp of the pizza sauce and spread evenly and then top it with onions, capsicums, tomatoes and cheese.





  • Sprinkle Oregano and chili flakes, and close the lid and cook in low flame for 8 to 10 minutes. By this time, the pizza base is cooked and the cheese would start melting on top. 
  • Remove the pizza on a plate. Cut and Serve.
  • In the same way make more Pizzas.



If you are making in an oven


  • Place the pizza base on the baking tray, keep the tray in the middle shelf of a preheated oven and bake at 200 degree Celsius for 8 minutes.
  • Pizza base is now ready. Remove from the oven, add sauce and topping of your choice and bake again for 5 to 10 minutes.
