"TASTY TIFFIN" - BOOK REVIEW

Hi friends welcome back to my blog. I hope you all are doing good. I had been busy travelling during these holidays and hence the delay in posting recipes and crafts here. But better late than never, today I am back with another post.

Kids have become very fussy and making them finish their school tiffin box has become a herculean task. They prefer eating packed and junk food compared to home cooked food. As schools are about to begin, what to pack in their tiffin box is a question that plagues most mothers.

I too had been thinking of what new to pack in my daughter's lunch box other than sandwiches, chapati rolls, tomato rice, etc, when I got my hands on the Cookery book "Tasty Tiffin" by Archana Doshi.

The book contains 40+ recipes of Healthy and delicious lunch plan for kids. These ideas include regular meal plans using foods that we usually eat along with some new and innovative recipes. Along with the book, I also got a 30 page Weekly Tasty Tiffin planner book.

Lets begin with my review of the planner book. The planner makes meal planning for the whole week easy as we can jot down what we are planning to make for the whole week along with some space for writing down the groceries needed for the week. The pages can be removed one by one and sticked to our kitchen wall or refrigerator for better access. The pages are vibrant amd colorful and would be a good addition to my kitchen. I really liked this idea of getting a meal planner book with the recipe book.

Now lets come to the main part, that is my review of the recipe book. The book covers different types of recipes from Quesadillas to Waffles, Variety rice to Roti Sabzi and a lot more. The main USP of the book is its unique food combinations which make meal planning easy.  The meal plan ideas have a perfect balance of health and taste. For example, the combo of Matar paneer, Paratha and Kala chana salad or Desi Masala pasta, banana and boiled eggs would be a wonderful combo for our kids tiffin box. The book also features beautiful food photographs which entice us to try out the recipes.

I tried making the Palak paneer roll and it came out delicious. My daughters loved it and hence I am planning to try more recipes from the book. Some recipes from the book that I loved and wish to try are Date energy bar, Spinach Corn Quesadilla, Brocolli Peanut tikki, Multi grain waffles, and Carrot Corn Mayo sandwich. I will be posting the recipes once I try them in my upcoming posts.

I had been looking for a recipe book which had lunch meal ideas and tiffin recipes for the school going children and I am happy I got this book. This book would really help me in planning the school lunch and snacks for my daughter.

The book is priced at ₹399 and is available in Amazon and other online stores at a discounted price. Do check out the book if you too are looking for a recipe book containing tasty Tiffin recipes.
