CHICKEN WHEAT MACARONI IN A PRESSURE COOKER

 


Hi friends, welcome back to my blog. Hope you all are doing good. Today I am sharing my family favorite recipe of Chicken Macaroni. Even though, I have shared several Macaroni recipes here, this is the most loved and most requested recipe.

You can make Chicken Macaroni for dinner or breakfast and also as snack when you have guests visiting your home. Chicken Macaroni is also an ideal Iftar dish during Ramadan. 

So lets move on to he recipe of making Chicken Macaroni.

Ingredients 

250 gms chicken cut into small pieces
4 cups wheat Macaroni (small elbow)
4 tbsp oil
1 cardamom, 1 cinnamon, 1 clove
2 onions sliced
4 tomatoes pureed
4 tbsp ginger garlic paste
2 tbsp curd 
2 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
1 sachet of maggi masala powder (secret Ingredient)
1 tsp lime juice (optional)
Handful of coriander and mint leaves 
6 cups water

Method

  • Boil 4 cups water and 1/2 tsp salt in a pan.
  • Add macaroni and boil for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile in another burner, heat oil in a pressure cooker and add onions.
  • Saute till the onions turn soft and then add ginger garlic paste.
  • Saute for a minute till the raw smell goes and add red chilli powder, maggi masala and 1 and 1/2 tsp salt.
  • Now add tomato puree and mix well.
  • Cook in low flame till oil starts separating and then add curd, coriander and mint leaves and chicken pieces.
  • Mix well and cook for a minute.
  • Now add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
  • Add the macaroni boiling in another pan along with the water and mix well.
  • Close a lid and pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistles.
  • Allow the steam to escape and transfer to a serving bowl.
  • Serve hot.
