I had bookmarked this recipe the moment I came across it at Aarthi’s blog. They tasted similar to Venky's chicken nuggets but with added flavours. I made small changes to the recipe to suit our taste. The indianised version of chicken nuggets was awesome and came out delicious. You can visit her blog for detailed recipe and step by step pictures.
Ingredients
200 gms chicken
2 tsp butter
1 small onion finely chopped
½ tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp green chilli sauce
2 to 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
2 tbsp all purpose flour
½ cup milk or as needed
Salt to taste
¼ tsp pepper powder
1 egg
Bread crumbs
All purpose flour
Oil for frying
Method
Cook the chicken in a pressure cooker for 5 minutes with 1 cup of water and ¼ tsp salt. Once done, set aside the stock and grind the chicken coarsely. Then heat butter in a pan, add onions and saute for some time. Then add ginger garlic paste, green chilli sauce and coriander leaves. Mix well and cook till the raw smell goes. Then add flour and fry for a few seconds. Now add milk and stir well such that no lumps are formed. Season with salt and pepper powder and add the chicken. Mix well and cook till the mixture comes together. Transfer this to a bowl and allow it to cool. Refrigerate for ½ an hour. Now take small portions of the chicken mixture and shape in the form of nuggets. Dip this in flour, then egg then bread crumbs and set aside. Once all the pieces are ready, heat oil in a pan and deep fry the nuggets till golden brown in colour. Serve hot with ketchup. This recipe makes approximately 12 nuggets.
