CABBAGE PORIYAL




This is a quick recipe that can be done in about 15 minutes. Replace cabbage with other veggies of your choice.


Ingredients

½ cabbage cut into thin strips and washed well
1 tsp urad dal
1 tsp chana dal
1 onion chopped
2 tbsp oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
8 to 10 curry leaves
½ tsp red chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp salt

Method

Heat oil in a non stick pan, add mustard seeds and allow them to sputter. Then add chana dal, urad dal and saute for a few seconds. Next add curry leaves and onions and stir fry till the onions turn golden. Now add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Finally add cabbage and mix well. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes till the cabbage is tender and serve hot.
