ALOO KI TIKKI/ EASY POTATO CUTLETS





Hi friends! This is the first recipe that I am sharing as a part of  #BlogchatterA2Z challenge. Since, I have selected the theme as Ramadan special recipes, you will be seeing a new Ramadan special recipe everyday except Sunday all through the month of April. Don't worry, these recipes are not restricted for Ramadan, but can be tried by anyone and for any meal of the day.


Today, I am sharing the recipe of making Easy Aloo Tikki. These are yummy and can be served with tomato ketchup or mint chutney. You can also use these Aloo Tikkis to make Burgers along with Cheese, Mayonnaise, Tomatoes and Lettuce. For more potato recipes, you can check out THIS PAGE.

Ingredients

3 large potatoes
1/2 normal sized onion finely chopped
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp dry mango powder/ amchur
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
2 tbsp rice flour or corn flour
4 tbsp bread crumbs (or as needed)
2 tbsp Coriander leaves finely chopped
Oil for frying

Method


  • Boil potatoes in a pan with 1/4 tsp salt and sufficient water, till they are cooked but not soggy.
  • Drain away the water and transfer potatoes to a bowl. 
  • Gently mash the potatoes till there are no lumps.
  • Add red chilli powder, onions, coriander leaves,garam masala powder, chaat masala, dry mango powder, salt, rice flour and bread crumbs and mix well till the mix comes together and you are able to make patties out of it. Add more bread crumbs if necessary.
  • Make all the patties from the mix and keep ready in a plate.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the patties one by one into it.
  • Deep fry them, till they turn golden in colour.
  • Transfer to an absorbent paper and serve the Aloo Tikkis hot with ketchup or mint chutney.
