DRY FRUIT AND NUT ENERGY BAR

Energy bars are instant energy boosters as they are loaded with proteins, vitamins, fibre and other vital nutrients. Making an energy bar at home is really easy and the good thing about this recipe is that there is no cooking involved here. So go ahead and try out this nutritious, no oil, no cook and no sugar recipe and give a healthy snack to your family.

Ingredients

20 almonds
20 black raisins
20 pistachios finely sliced
8 walnuts
8 apricots
8 soft dates (seeds removed)
6 oats or chocolate cookies (optional)

Method

  • Take all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse for a few minutes till they are well mixed and coarsely ground.
  • Transfer the mix to a clean plastic cover, gently press and make a rectangle shape.
  • Wrap the mix tightly and refrigerate for 4 to 5 hours.
  • The mix would have turned firm by now.
  • Cut into pieces with a knife.
  • Delicious and healthy energy bars are ready to be served.

Note:
  • Here I have used some cookies just for added crunch and flavour. This is entirely optional and you can skip it.
  • You can also add cashews, or any other dry fruit or nut of your choice.
  • Store the energy bar in an air tight box inside the refrigerator for later use.
  • You can also serve these energy bars in place of sweets during festivals.
