2017 has come to an end and the year 2018 has just begun. As we embark on the new year, I thought sharing a quick and easy recipe of microwave mug cake that can be cooked in just 2 minutes. Also I would be sharing my best posts of the year and achievements in blogging.

As I look back, I feel happy and satisfied with the way this blog has shaped up and the posts that I have shared here. It is only because of my family's encouragement and your continuous likes, comments and support that has motivated me to continue blogging. Thank you so much for all the love and attention!

3. Won the wildcard prize 3 times from better butter for my entries Jodhpuri vegetable pulao, Egg halwa and Curry leaves chicken gravy.

4. My sugar free egg pudding won a prize in the Onfoodie Sugar free dessert contest.

And now over to the recipe of the day

Microwave chocolate mug cake with almond flour

Microwave mug cake is a quick and delicious cake that is made more tasty with the addition of almond flour in this recipe. Do try out this mug cake when you get those sudden hunger pangs.

Serves: 1

3 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp All-purpose flour (maida)
1 tbsp almond flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp oil
3 to 4 tbsp milk
¼ tsp vanilla essence


  • Take sugar in a mixer jar and grind to a powder.
  • Take all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, almond flour, baking soda and cocoa flour in a microwave safe mug and mix well.
  • Add milk, oil and vanilla essence and stir well.
  • Place the mug inside a microwave oven and microwave for about 1 minute and 20 seconds.
  • Insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
  • Serve as it is or invert into a plate and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
