YUMMY SPANISH OMELET

Hi all, today I am going to share the recipe of making Spanish Omelet. This is a delicious Spanish recipe that you can try when you are bored with your regular omelet. The main ingredient that sets the Spanish omelet apart from regular omelet is Potato.

Adding fried potatoes in the omelet increases its taste and this is an excellent dish that you can serve to your kids. Spanish Omelet is a yummy dish that can be served for breakfast, brunch, snack or dinner. I also serve this for Iftar during Ramadan

Let's move to the recipe of making Spanish omelet

Ingredients

3 eggs
4 tbsp Olive oil
1 large potato finely chopped
1 onion finely chopped
1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp pepper powder
coriander leaves finely chopped

Method

  • Heat Olive oil in a pan, add the potatoes and sauté for a few minutes till the potatoes are cooked, soft and golden.
  • Then add onions and cook for some more time till the onions turn soft.
  • Switch off the flame and allow the potato onion mix to cool down.
  • Break open 3 eggs in a bowl, add salt, pepper powder and coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Add the potato onion mix to this and mix everything well.
  • Heat the same pan and transfer the omelet mix into it.
  • Gently spread and close a lid.
  • Cook in low flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Open the lid and check.
  • If you see the lower part has turned brown, then it is time to flip the omelet.
  • For this, place a plate on top of the pan and carefully invert the pan on the plate.
  • Then we can slide the omelet from the plate back to the pan.
  • Again close a lid and cook covered for 3 to 4 minutes in low flame.
  • Gently press to ensure the omelet is cooked on the inside as well.
  • Once done, switch off the gas and transfer the Spanish Omelet to a serving plate.
  • Cut it into pieces and serve hot.
