XCELLENT CHICKEN SAMOSA USING SWITZ SAMOSA PATTI

Hi all, welcome to my blog. It's been a hectic April for me as I have been cooking, typing and posting recipes everyday as a part of Blogchatter's AtoZ challenge. This challenge has made me work more hard, sleep less and yet the result is satisfying.

It is just two days left for the challenge to end and I am already feeling like a winner. Thank you so much to my family, friends, fellow bloggers and readers who encouraged me throughout the challenge.

Today, I am sharing a recipe of making Xcellent Chicken samosa using ready made Samosa Patti. I used Switz samosa sheets as I didn't have much time to knead to dough and make samosa sheets for Iftar. I used boneless chicken to make the stuffing and the samosas came out really Xcellent. Do try out the recipe at home and serve it as a snack during Tea parties, family get togethers and definitely for Iftar during Ramadan.

Let's move on to the recipe of making Xcellent Chicken Samosa at home.

Ingredients

Ready made Samosa sheets
Oil for frying

For the Chicken stuffing

200 gms boneless chicken
2 large onion finely sliced
¾ tbsp garlic paste
¾ tbsp ginger paste
1 large tomato pureed
1 cardamom
1 cinnamon
1 tsp lemon juice
3 tbsp oil
1 tsp chilli powder
¾ tsp Salt (or to taste)
Coriander and mint leaves

For the flour paste (to seal the samosa sheets)

2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp water

Method

  • Wash and clean the chicken pieces and keep ready.
  • Use a food processor to coarsely mince the chicken.
  • Then heat oil in a kadai/ pan, add cardamom, cinnamon and sliced onions.
  • Sauté till they are golden in color.
  • Then add garlic paste, ginger paste and cook for some time.
  • Then add red chilli powder, salt and tomato puree. Cook for sometime till oil starts separating.
  • Then add chicken and cook for 5 to 10 minutes while stirring in medium flame till the chicken is cooked.
  • Finally add coriander and mint leaves and add lemon juice.
  • Mix well and check for taste. Add salt or chilli powder if required and switch off the gas.
  • Allow the chicken stuffing to cool down and then we can fill it inside the samosa sheets.
  • Take flour and water in a bowl and mix well to make a paste. Keep ready. We will use this to seal the samosas.
  • Now take a samosa sheet and fold from one corner to make a triangle. Fold again and you will get a cone.
  • Fill 2 tsp of the chicken stuffing inside the cone and fold a couple of times so that you will get a samosa shape.
  • Apply the flour paste on the edge of the samosa sheet and press gently to seal.
  • In the same way, make more samosas.
  • Once all the samosas are ready, heat oil in a pan.
  • When oil is hot, add the samosas and deep fry in medium flame till they turn golden color on both sides.
  • Transfer the cooked samosas to an absorbent paper and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
