ZAFRANI FALUDA/ SAFFRON FLAVORED AGAR AGAR PUDDING

Hi friends, welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing recipe of making Zafrani Faluda. This Faluda is different from the Royal Falooda Ice cream that we get in restaurants. The Faluda pudding is prepared using China grass/ Agar agar and milk.

Faluda is a delicious and common pudding dessert that we make on special occasion and festivals. Today I am going to share the recipe of making Zafrani Faluda which is more rich and delicious as we have added Saffron, condensed milk and dry fruits.

You can make this Zafrani Faluda for Eid or for any other festival or celebration.

Let's move to the recipe of making Zafrani Faluda

Ingredients

1/2 liter milk
5 gms agar agar strands or powder
4 tbsp condensed milk
2 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
1/4 tsp saffron strands
2 tbsp finely chopped cashews and pistachios

Method

  • Soak Saffron strands in 1/4 cup warm milk for about 15 minutes.
  • Soak Agar agar in water for 15 minutes.
  • Boil milk in a pan and cook for a few minutes in low flame while stirring till the milk reduces to 3/4th of its initial volume.
  • Cook the agar agar in 1 cup water, while stirring, till the agar agar dissolves. Switch off the gas.
  • Add condensed milk, sugar, milk and saffron milk to the cooked Agar Agar and mix everything well.
  • Pour the mix in a wide bowl and when it slightly starts thickening, sprinkle nuts and some saffron strands on top.
  • I poured the Falooda mix in 2 square cake tins of 5 inches size.
  • Allow the faluda to cool down completely and refrigerate for a few hours.
  • Serve as it is as a pudding or cut it into bite size pieces.
