Hi friends, welcome back to my blog. Hope you all are doing good. I am sorry for not posting as regularly as I used to do earlier. Will try my best to post atleast 1 post a week. So today I am sharing the recipe of tricolor agar agar or China grass pudding that I made for Independence day.
I couldn't post this recipe earlier as my toddler these days is driving me nuts and I had no time or energy left to type posts on my laptop. Nevertheless I have taken some time off today (when she is napping and I am done with all household chores) to share the recipe and I hope you will like it.
This is an easy peasy recipe of China grass or Agar Agar pudding. We call this as Faluda (not to be confused with Falooda ice cream) and needs only 4 ingredients. This sweet recipe just needs milk, sugar and china grass. But to enhance the taste, I have added condensed milk and also food color to get the tiranga feel and color.
So lets move on the proportion of ingredients and method required to make this Tiranga Faluda or Tricolor pudding at home.
Ingredients
1 liter milk
10 gms agar agar strands
6 tbsp condensed milk
150 gms sugar (or to taste)
Kesari and green food color
Method
- Soak Agar agar in water for 15 minutes.
- Boil milk in a pan and cook for a few minutes in low flame while stirring till the milk reduces to 3/4th of its initial volume.
- Cook the agar agar in 1 and 1/2 cups water, while stirring, till the agar agar dissolves. Switch off the gas.
- Add condensed milk, sugar, and milk to the cooked Agar Agar and mix everything well.
- Pour 1/3 mix in a flat plate to set.
- And divide retaining faluda mix into 2 bowls.
- Add kesari color in one bowl and green color in another bowl.
- Mix well and then pour the kesari faluda and green color faluda in 2 flat plates .
- Allow the faluda to set. This may take 30 to 40 minutes.
- Refrigerate for a few hours.
- Cut it into bite size pieces and serve.
I hope you will like this recipe and will try it out at home. Thanks for visiting.
