VEG FRIED RICE RECIPE/ RESTAURANT STYLE VEG FRIED RICE

Hi friends. Hope you are doing great! Today I am going to share an easy and delicious recipe of Veg fried rice. This Veg Fried rice recipe is one of the best fried rice recipes that I have made or tasted and hence I am sharing it here. Just adding a few extra ingredients gives that wow taste and flavour to this Veg Fried rice.

Here I have used some green chilli sauce, tomato sauce and fried rice mix along with soya sauce and pepper for flavouring. So without much delay, lets jump to the recipe of making Restaurant style Veg Fried Rice at home.

Ingredients

2 cups basmati rice
1 long carrot peeled and finely chopped
10 green beans finely sliced
1/4 cabbage cut into very thin strips
1/2 capsicum finely chopped
8 spring onions (white and greens finely chopped and kept separately)
6 cloves of garlic finely chopped or grated
1/2 cup oil
salt to taste
2 tsp Pepper powder (or to taste)
2 tbsp soya sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp green chilli sauce
2 tbsp fried rice mix (I used hapima)

Method

  • Wash and soak basmati rice in water for half an hour.
  • Then drain the excess water, and add rice to a pressure cooker. Add 3 cups of water, 2 tsp oil and 1 tsp salt and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  • Once the steam has released, open the lid of the cooker and transfer the cooked basmati rice to a wide plate and allow it to cool down completely.
  • Heat oil in a large kadai or wok, add finely chopped garlic and saute for a minute.
  • Next add finely chopped spring onion bulb or white and saute for a minute.
  • Next add finely chopped capsicum, beans and carrots and continue frying in high flame for a couple of minutes.
  • Next add in cabbage and mix everything well.
  • After some time, when all the veggies are cooked but still holds shape and crunch, add in soya sauce, green chilli sauce, tomato sauce, vinegar, pepper powder, salt to taste and fried rice mix and mix well.
  • Cook for a minute and then reduce the flame to low, and add the cooked basmati rice and half the spring onion greens.
  • Gently mix it with the veggies. Make sure you don't break the rice.
  • Check for taste and add salt or pepper powder if necessary.
  • Close a lid and continue cooking in low flame for about 5 minutes.
  • Once done, transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with the remaining spring onion greens. Serve this delicious hot Veg fried rice with Boiled Egg Manchurian, Chilli Chicken, Paneer Manchurian, Cauliflower manchurian or Chicken Manchurian.
