CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE FROSTING AND VIDEO




Hi friends, today I am going to share an easy, quick and delicious recipe of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. This chocolate cake is soft, spongy and can be cut into layers. Hence this is an ideal recipe you can turn to when making any type of cakes. You can also customize this chocolate cake according to your choice by adding any other topping or frosting of your choice. 

Ingredients

2 cups maida/ all purpose flour
1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp cocoa powder
30 gms butter softened (at room temperature)
2 eggs
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence





For the frosting

Ingredients

1 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 and 1/2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla essence

Method
  • Sieve 1 cup powdered sugar and cocoa powder.
  • Add butter, milk and vanilla essence and beat well with a whisk or hand blender.
  • The frosting is now ready.

Method for making Chocolate cake

  • Sieve together 2 cups maida, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder twice.
  • Keep the dry ingredients ready.
  • In another bowl, break open two eggs and beat well with a hand blender or whisk.
  • When the eggs turn foamy, add powdered sugar and continue beating till the mix turns slightly pale.
  • Next add vanilla essence and butter and beat well.
  • Add milk and continue beating till foamy.
  • Now start adding the dry ingredients to the mix little by little and mix well. There should not be any lumps.
  • Preheat oven at 160 degree C for 10 minutes.
  • Take a 7 and 1/2" aluminium pan, grease with butter and dust with flour.
  • Pour the batter into the cake pan and gently tap to remove air bubbles.
  • Place the cake pan in the central rack of the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes with upper and lower rods On.
  • Gently take it out, insert a toothpick, if it comes out clean, cake is ready.
  • Allow the cake to cool down and run a knife around the edges.
  • Take a plate, invert the cake pan and gently tap.
  • The cake will gently slide.
  • (You can also cut the cake into layers.)
  • Now spread the cake frosting evenly over the cake and garnish with chopped walnuts.
  • Refrigerate for a couple of hours and serve.
