CURD PRAWN GRAVY/ CURD PRAWN RECIPE





Curd Prawn gravy is a mouth watering and delicious recipe that goes well with Vegetable Fried rice, Chicken Biryani or with Rice and Sambar. Curd Prawn gravy is easy to prepare and you can feel the flavours even after you have finished eating. This is one recipe that you should surely try when you are preparing a special meal or when you have guests visiting. You can increase the proportion of ingredients if you are making for more people.

Serves: 4
Ingredients

500 gms prawn (cleaned and washed)
1 onion chopped
1/2 capsicum chopped
6 tbsp oil
12 curry leaves
4 tbsp thick curd
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
3/4 tsp black pepper powder
2 tsp corn flour dissolved in 1 cup water
coriander leaves for garnish

Method

  • Take the prawns in a bowl, add curd, red chilli powder, salt, black pepper powder and ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Check for taste and add salt or chilli powder or curd as required.
  • Set aside and allow this to marinate for at least 3 to 4 hours.
  • Then heat 4 tbsp oil in a pan and add the prawns along with the marinade to it.
  • Mix well and cook for 5 to 10 minutes till the prawns turn round and are cooked.
  • Add the corn flour dissolved in water to this along with coriander leaves and cook for couple of minutes till the gravy thickens. 
  • Switch off the gas.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in another pan and add curry leaves, onions and capsicums.
  • Cook till the onions and capsicums turn soft.
  • Add this to the prawn gravy and mix well.
  • Serve hot.
