Hi friends, welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to share with you a fun DIY tutorial that I made with my daughter recently. She wanted me to make a storage rack to keep her Barbie doll's accessories and clothes, so I came up with the idea of making a Chest of drawers for her Barbie doll.
For this project, I used waste Horlicks carton boxes and sweet boxes, along with color paper and a few beads and this Chest of Drawers was ready in just 1 hour. My daughter was overjoyed and keeps all her Barbie accessories like Shoes, Comb, Mirror, Handbag, etc inside it.
You can also use this Chest of drawers as an mini organizer to keep small things in your home.
So, let's move on to see how to make this Chest of Drawers/ Mini Organizer.
Things Required
4 Horlicks carton boxes
4 sweet boxes that fit inside the Horlicks box
Fevicol
Color paper
4 beads for the handles
thin wires for the handles (or glue gun)
Cello tape
Method
- Take a sweet box and insert it inside the Horlicks box. Measure the exact size and cut off the excess part from the Horlicks box.
- In the same way cut the remaining Horlicks boxes.
- Now apply fevicol on the boxes and stack all the four boxes together, one on top of the other.
- Cover it with color paper on all sides. Our rack is ready.
- In the same way cover the sweet boxes with color paper as well.
- To make the handle, take a sweet box and on it's face, mark a midpoint.
- Take a bead, insert a small wire and insert it in the middle and then secure it inside using a cellotape.
- In the same way make the remaining handles. (You can also glue the beads using glue gun)
- Place the sweet boxes inside the Rack.
- Our DIY Chest of drawers is ready.
