TANDOORI CHICKEN WITHOUT OVEN

Hi everyone, Hope you are doing well! Today I am going to share with you the recipe of making Tandoori Chicken without an oven. You can see how awesome this Tandoori Chicken looks and I must say it indeed tasted amazing.

Here I have used Chicken legs for the recipe. And most importantly I marinated the Chicken for 24 hours in the freezer. This made the Tandoori Chicken more juicy and tasty and the burnt effect that I got simply added to the taste of the Tandoori Chicken.

So without wasting any more time, let's move on to the recipe of making Tandoori Chicken at home without an oven.

Ingredients

6 Chicken legs

2 tsp ginger garlic paste

2 tbsp tandoori masala

1 cheese cube grated

2 tbsp curd

salt to taste

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp corn flour (optional)

Oil or butter as needed for cooking the Tandoori Chicken

Method

  • Wash the chicken well with water and pat dry with a cloth to remove all moisture.
  • Take a knife and make gashes or cuts on the Chicken pieces so that the masala paste reaches inside the chicken pieces. Keep ready.
  • Take all the ingredients in a bowl, except chicken and mix well to make a paste.
  • Add the chicken to the masalas and mix well such that every part of it is covered with masalas.
  • Check for taste and if necessary add lime juice, salt or some more Tandoori masala.
  • Transfer this to an airtight container and place inside the freezer for at least 24 hours.
  • If you are making Tandoori Chicken for dinner, keep the chicken outside in the evening or afternoon. Let the Chicken come to room temperature naturally.
  • Then heat a non stick pan or a grill pan and add 2 to 3 tbsp of oil or butter. Spread evenly.
  • Now place 2 pieces of chicken and close a lid.
  • Cook in low flame for 5 to 7 minutes, till the lower part is cooked.
  • Then turn over the piece and cook again covered for another 5 minutes.
  • Check if the chicken is cooked on all sides. If necessary cook for some more time.
  • Transfer the Tandoori Chicken to a plate, insert a fork through the chicken and place it carefully above direct gas flame.
  • Rotate it gently so that you get a burnt effect.
  • Once done, transfer to a plate.
  • In the same way cook the remaining chicken pieces.
  • Finally arrange the Tandoori Chicken on a serving platter, decorate with coriander leaves, lemon wedge and onion rings and serve hot with Mayonnaise or Garlic dip and any salad of your choice.
