I made a school project for my 4 year old daughter. Since the topic was Sheep and shepherd, I made a small farmhouse with house, fence, sheep and a shepherd. I used a thermocol, fevicol, foam sheet, colour paper, toothpaste carton box, acrylic paints and ready made sheep and shepherd from a stationary store.

DIY CARDBOARD CUBPOARD
Last week, I made a small cardboard cupboard for my daughter using things that were readily available at home. It can also be called upcycling project, as otherwise, I would have thrown out the cardboard. Now it has turned into a beautiful storage space to keep my daughter’s toys, stationaries, hair bands, accessories, books, etc.
THERMOCOL CRAFTS
A small piece of thermocol can be made into a piece of art. Using our creativity we can shape the thermocol into any desired shape using emery or sand paper and then paint it in vibrant colours. These are pictures of crafts i made using thermocol. In some of them i have made separate parts and later glued them using fevicol.
Things used to make these thermocol crafts
- A large piece of thermocol
- Fevicol
- Acrylic or water colours
- Paint brushes and water
- Emery or sand paper
- OHP sheet (thick plastic sheet which can be used along with cellotape for making the case for the Taj Mahal craft)
- Plain sheet of paper (Roll a sheet of paper and stick the end with gum to make the stand for the parrot and also the thin pillars of the Taj Mahal).
TAJ MAHAL
This is the miniature model of Taj Mahal that i made recently. You too can make one. The Taj Mahal enclosed in the case is 7"x7"x5" in size. I made this with thermocol and carved the various pillars and domes using sand paper.By referring the photographs of Taj Mahal, I first drew the basic outline, then the outline of the forms of the pillars and domes on paper. Then deciding on the proportions, i proceeded to make the various parts. Each part in the pillar has been made separately and then glued together using fevicol. For the smaller pillars i rolled paper strips and glued them in place. Once all the parts were glued and ready, i placed them in a flat square piece of thermocol of 7"x7" size. I also carved the finer details like doors and windows using a pencil. Then using OHP sheets i made a case for the Taj Mahal. For this i cut 5 pieces and then joined them using cellotape. I have given below some close up pictures.
