SUMMER FROCK PATTERNS FOR LITTLE GIRLS

Summer has just arrived and its time of the year to bring in those vibrant and colourful cotton frocks. Frocks are an ideal dress for girls to wear during summers as they are roomy, comfortable and allow air to circulate. I usually buy or stitch a few cotton frocks a couple of months before summer as they allow my little one to feel at ease during the hot weather. Here in this post, I am sharing a few frock patterns that are trendy, stylish and ideal to wear during summers.

FROCK PATTERNS/ LONG FROCK

A long frock is a frock that has frock length till the ankle or a few inches below the ankle. This is an ideal dress for kids to wear during summers as they are roomy, comfortable and allow air to circulate. Here I have used 2 different patterns of cotton fabrics to bring look and contrast to the frock.

FROCK PATTERNS/ HALF FLARE FROCK WITH PUFF SLEEVES

I made this frock for my 3 year old daughter. This frock is cut in umbrella style/ half flare and has puff sleeves. I have used a shimmering net material along with a cotton lining to add volume to the frock. Satin fabric has been used to make the sleeve ends and waist band to add contrast and look to the dress.

BABY FROCK DESIGN 3

I made this red and black sleeveless cotton frock for my one and half year old baby. The frock is cut in waist fullness style and the lower part is pleated at the waist. Piping has been done using black colour fabric at the neck and arm holes.

HOW TO STITCH A FROCK

Frocks are one piece garments that are usually knee length and are flared at the waist. They come in varying shapes and sizes, have sleeves or are sleeve less.

I have already shared a post on the basic types of frocks and in this post the tutorial on how to stitch a waist fullness type frock is discussed.

HOW TO STITCH A FROCK WITH PANELS

Frocks come in varying shapes and sizes. I have already shared a post on the basic types of frocks and in this post the tutorial on how to stitch a waist fullness type frock with panels is discussed.

BABY FROCK DESIGN 2

This two toned frock is stitched using cotton silk fabric and has panels below the waist. Piping is done at the neck and sleeves and a lace with chamkis is stitched at the waist.

This cotton frock is cut in waist fullness style and has pleats starting from the waist. The frock has two layers and a zip is attached at the back. A small bow with a sequin is stiched in front and piping at the sleeves, neck and edges is done with a matching colour cloth.

BASIC TYPES OF FROCKS

Frocks are cute little dresses worn by girls. Frocks with a variety of patterns and designs are available in the market. Depending on where the skirt part starts, there are basically three types of frocks.
