Arbi Curry or Taro root Curry is a traditional vegetarian curry recipe that I learnt from my mother. Since this is a standard curry recipe, you can replace Arbi with potatoes, peas or beetroots or even Drumsticks. Each curry has its own flavour and tastes delicious. I didn’t have capsicums in my pantry so I did not add it to the dish. But adding it will make the dish taste more flavourful.

Moong dal sambar is a healthy and delicious curry that gets cooked in less than 15 minutes. Moong dal sambar can be served with idlis, dosa, chapathi, upma, etc. This is a nutritious sambar that you can cook when you are short of time or wish to cook something fast. HOW TO MAKE SARAVANA BHAVAN STYLE SAMBAR/ HOTEL SAMBAR




Sambar is a delicious curry made with lentils and vegetables. It is very popular in south India and is made in most South Indian homes. Sambar can be served with idlis, dosas, rice, upma, pongal, vadai, etc. I have already shared recipes of making sambar like masoor dal sambar, toor dal sambar, etc in my earlier posts and today, I am going to share an easy recipe of making Saravana bhavan style sambar.

Double beans curry is a delicious and quick recipe from my mother. This curry can be made with both fresh or dry double beans. I make this curry when I don't have time to chop veggies. RESTAURANT STYLE VEGETABLE KHURMA




Hotel  Saravana bhavan is one of my favourite food joints in Chennai to eat vegetarian food. I personally like their sambar and vegetable khurma, and have been planning to make these two at home. Today I tried making vegetable khurma and it came out so good and tasted similar to the restaurant style Vegetable khurma. The main ingredients which make this vegetable khurma stand out are poppy seeds, green chilies and a combination of curd and milk.  Do try out the recipe. I am sure you will like it.

PUNJABI BLACK CHICKPEA CURRY/ KALA CHANA CURRY





Black chickpeas or kala chana are protein rich and are very good for our body. We use chickpeas often at home and I have shared several recipes using white chickpeas like chana sundal, chana poori chaat, chole masala, chickpea/ chana rice, etc. in this blog. And today’s recipe is of a Punjabi style curry made with black chickpeas. This delicious and flavourful curry goes well with both white rice and chapathi.



TOMATO PEPPER RASAM




Rasam is one of the most favoured curry in Tamil Nadu. It is a tangy curry made with tamarind with a hint of spices and onions. Today’s recipe is of a tangy Tomato Pepper rasam that we make often at home. This is my mom-in-law’s recipe that is simply delicious. The addition of tomatoes and black pepper adds a wonderful taste and flavour to the rasam. Rasam requires few ingredients and gets cooked in a very little time.

TAMATAR AUR ANDE KA BARBOOTH/ BOILED EGGS IN TOMATO GRAVY




Barbooth or barboot is a traditional tomato based curry recipe that is often prepared in the north arcot district of Tamil Nadu and is served with moong dal khichdi. The combination of khichdi and barboot tastes delicious and is often served for lunch. The main thing that distinguishes this recipe is that it uses plenty of tomatoes and does not require ginger garlic paste that is quintessential for preparing most Indian curries.

Kofta curry is one of my favourite curries and I usually prepare chicken kofta curry and mutton kofta curry at home. This time since we had some vegetarian guests vising our house for dinner, we made this vegetable kofta curry to serve with chapathi. Even though the ingredients and recipe looks long, it is quite easy to prepare. The vegetable kofta curry tastes delicious and can also be served with cooked rice or naan.
