I have shared several Manchurian recipes like Chicken Manchurian, Gobi Manchurian, Paneer Manchurian, Idli Manchurian and Egg Manchurian in my earlier posts and today, I am going to share a delicious and flavourful recipe of Gobi Manchurian/ Cauliflower Manchurian that I tried recently. The Cauliflower Manchurian/ Gobi Manchurian gravy came out delicious. You can serve this hot with Veg Fried rice for lunch or dinner.
For the Cauliflower balls
1 cauliflower cut into florets
Pinch of turmeric powder
6 tbsp corn flour
Pinch of turmeric powder

6 tbsp all purpose flour/ maida
1 tsp red chilli powder (or to taste)
2 tbsp soya sauce
2 tbsp soya sauce
1 and 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)

Oil for frying
For the sauce
4 tbsp oil
1 large onion finely chopped
1/2 capsicum finely chopped
1/2 capsicum finely chopped
1 tsp garlic finely chopped
1 tsp ginger finely chopped
½ tsp salt (or to taste)
½ tsp pepper powder
1 tbsp soya sauce
1 tsp green chilli sauce
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 and 1/2 tbsp corn flour
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 and 1/2 tbsp corn flour
Chopped coriander leaves
Spring onion greens finely chopped
Method
- Boil the cauliflower florets with a pinch of turmeric powder in sufficient water for 5 minutes.
- Strain the florets using a strainer and transfer the cauliflower florets to a bowl. Keep ready.
- Add red chilli powder, soya sauce, corn flour, salt and maida to another bowl. Add water little by little to form a thick batter.
- Now check for taste and add salt or red chilli powder if required.
- Heat oil in a pan or kadai and when oil is hot, dip the cauliflower florets in the batter, coat well and add them one by one into the oil.
- Deep fry in medium to low flame till they are golden brown in colour.
- Carefully transfer to an absorbent paper on a plate and keep ready.
- For preparing the sauce, heat oil in a pan.
- Add onions and fry in high fame till they turn golden.
- Then add garlic and ginger and sauté for a minute.
- Next add capsicums and stir fry for a minute.
- Then salt and pepper powder, soya sauce, green chili sauce and tomato sauce and mix well.
- Cook for a couple of minutes in low flame.
- Add coriander leaves, spring onion greens and corn flour dissolved in 1 cup water and bring to a boil.
- Finally add the cauliflower balls and mix well.
- Cook in low flame for a couple of minutes and switch off the gas.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and serve hot with Paella, Fried rice or Noodles.
